Bencharong
is a type of porcelain, distinguished by enamel decorations
and is world-renowned for it's unique form, design,
many color schemes and graceful beauty.
The word Bencharong means
five colors in Thai (Bencha = five, rong = color). The
craft originated in China and gained popularity in Thailand
in the 18th century. Traditional Bencharong items were
designed to grace the Royal dining table in the form
of food containers or tea sets.
